Jazz Fusion Guitar is a mixture of blues, rock, jazz [and more] wrapped up into one super fun and easy-to-play package!
In fact, this style of music provides a truly great vehicle for helping guitar players learn their five ‘pentatonic scale’ shapes along with their five ‘major scale’ shapes!
What Just Happened?
I have a pretty solid background in blues guitar - plus, more recently I have been putting the final touches on an easy way to learn, play and understand jazz. So, I got the idea to pull out my guitar and find out what would happen if I mixed blues guitar with some elements of my jazz approach, and this fun experiment led to a very interesting discovery…
A Simple Formula
It turns out that there is a very simple way [and, I am sure that the pros already know all about this] to ‘mismatch’ the two very basic scales, mentioned above, and get instant ‘jazz fusion guitar’, so long as we are playing over some cool jazz chords. The whole thing [jumping right in] is actually so simple that it’s just instant fun!
Of course, when we take time to map out some cool licks and practice them a bit, we are really going to have something!
