Have We Been Asking Our Kids To Do ‘The Near Impossible’?
When it comes to K-5 education, have we been asking each child to ‘use their brain’ without actually teaching them ‘how’ to use their brain?
Think about that for just a moment…
How can we expect our kids to ‘operate on all cylinders’ without actually helping them learn ‘how to recognize-and-utilize their greatest strengths’ and learn ‘how to recognize-and-strengthen what were once weaknesses’ in their brain’s visual, aural, kinesthetic, gustatory, and olfactory modes of taking in, processing and recalling information?
With just a little bit of help and guidance, it’s amazing what we can actually
learn how to accomplish with our brains!
With my ‘How To Use Your Smart Brain’ program, I help students learn how to:
1) ‘Recognize-and-utilize their greatest strengths’ and learn how to ‘recognize-and-strengthen what were once weaknesses’ in their brain’s visual, aural, kinesthetic, gustatory, and olfactory modes of taking in, processing and recalling information
And 2) Set the kinds of goals and intentions that healthy brains actually love to aim for and achieve!

The Bottom Line!
Most students who already know how to use their brains effectively are labeled as smart, gifted and talented! And, most importantly, students who discover that they ‘really can learn’ then enjoy having all of the life-changing momentum that comes right along with experiencing higher self-esteem and greater self-confidence! ‘Life-changing momentum’ is the real bottom line!
The Brain’s Official Language!
Our brains ‘take in, process and recall information’ using five basic modalities: visual, aural, kinesthetic, gustatory, and olfactory. Using just a ‘fun-and-creative conversational approach’, I have helped many students learn how to:
1) Develop a line of clear, positive and creative communication with their brains
2) Set clear, positive and creative intentions
3) And, therefore achieve: clear, positive and rewarding outcomes [educational and otherwise]
Building Life-Changing Momentum!
As a student learns ‘more-and-more creative ways’ for how to use their brain effectively, they accumulate ‘more-and-more valuable tools’ that are then going to be ‘forever at their disposal’! This is how we build life-changing momentum!
Why Are Such Important Lessons Not Being Taught In Schools?
As I was learning more-and-more about ‘how to use the brain’s official language’ and how to set the kinds of goals and intentions that the brain actually loves to aim for and achieve’ I said to myself, “Lessons like these are so basic and important that they should be taught in schools every single year, from K-12!”
The truth is that ‘bits and pieces of this’ are being taught in schools. However, there remains one simple problem makes it completely impractical for any comprehensive version of ‘such important lessons’ to be taught in the general classroom, and that is that ‘each brain is completely unique’. This simple fact indicates that each student must learn, quite literally, how to use ‘their’ own unique brain! The plus side, of each student having a completely unique brain, is that each student’s true potential is always waiting to be discovered!

My Mission!
With knowledge and experience that I have gathered over the past twenty-seven years working successfully as an educator and as a certified professional Life Coach, NLP Practitioner and Hypnotist, my mission is to help young students learn how to:
1) Develop a line of clear, positive and creative communication with their brains
2) Set clear, positive and creative intentions
3) Achieve clear, positive and rewarding outcomes [educational and otherwise]
And 4) Build life-changing momentum that leads naturally to each student experiencing higher self-esteem and greater self-confidence!
Math Facts, Spelling Lists, Memorization Tasks, & Test Prep = Natural Motivation!
The K-5 curriculum provides a perfect vehicle for helping young students learn how to use their brains! As a parent, imagine the ease of having virtual sessions where your son or daughter can at once ‘make meaningful progress on school-related tasks’ [such as math facts, spelling lists, memorization tasks, and test prep] while at the same time learning life-changing secrets for how to tap into, go for and achieve the full potential of their unique brain!
Feeling Better About Taking Tests: The Coaching Element!
I had a young student once who expressed that she had been feeling quite anxious about this or that [something in her life that felt much more serious than it really was]. And, I remember talking with her about it for just a few minutes, and asking her, strategically and yet conversationally, if she could picture this and if she could picture that, etc.
A moment later, she surprised me with a look of relief and happiness. She then nodded and said in a matter-of-fact manner, and yet with the sweetest sound of ‘pleasant surprise’ in her voice, “You are a really good therapist”.
The point that I am aiming to make, here, is that my personal style of coaching does not include ‘opening a big can of worms’. Instead, it makes use of the brain’s natural ability to order, reorder and recode thoughts and feelings until [hopefully] a better outcome has been achieved.
With that said, feeling better about taking tests can make a big difference in a person’s life! And, feeling better about taking tests, if desired, is something that we can build right into our regular sessions together!
Talk And Share: Yet Another Option!
In addition, parents are welcome to schedule sessions where their kids simply 'talk and share' for the sake of generating a sense of catharsis. In sessions like these, students get to be 'heard and validated' while also being guided, often without realizing, toward having the greatest possible - positive and productive - view of their unique situation. This is a time when a student can learn 'how to use their brain' for the purpose of being happy, healthy and productive in life. With that said, sessions like these can be quite valuable!

Just Like Learning How To Ride A Bike!
This, the description above, is about all that really needs to be said about my program for “How To Use Your Smart Brain”. I am saying this because what I do is very similar to teaching a young person how to ride a bike.
You might recall from your own experience(s) that learning to ride does not require any lengthy discussions about physics or about the mechanics of the bike’s design.
We just teach kids how to ride by helping them to ‘have their own successful experience’. Then like magic, they just take it from there and go on to create and experience a great lifetime of fun, freedom, fitness, and adventure! Maybe you can tell that I love biking! :)

Your Questions Answered: FAQs!
Before we book one or more sessions, please feel free to let me know if you have any questions!
Q: How often and how long are sessions?
A: Very much like taking a regular music lesson, I recommend that a young student has at least a half-hour lesson per week in order to help build meaningful momentum. More sessions per week, or even longer sessions, are possible depending on how the student happens to be responding.
Q: What is the best way to get started?
A: "It's time to meet with Mr. Nate to work on your math facts!" :)
A great way to get started might be to schedule a session anytime your kids have a memorization task such as math facts or a spelling list. Another great time to schedule a session is if your kids are ever experiencing a conceptual block that requires a fresh approach in order to be resolved. Both scenarios offer a great opportunity for us to do some basic mapping so that the student can then learn how to reroute cognitive tasks through 'brain-channels of strength' while also working to 'bring online and strengthen' additional channels as well!
"It's time to do 'Brain Time' with Mr. Nate!" :)

Comments From My Time Working As A Life Coach, NLP Practitioner and Hypnotist!
[A long time ago, I found a bunch of comments that I had saved, and it reminded me, happily, that people are capable of doing great things in their lives! And, it reminded me that it is a true honor to be even a tiny part of their great journey in life!] [Here, below, are some of those comments!]
“The session today was just what I needed, you are a gifted coach, thank you!”
“I have been through similar training, but having you walk me through it with your unique twist was much more effective.”
“It’s working! Your teaching is transformative. I feel much more relaxed, balanced, and in tune with my body/mind since we had our class.”
“I came across Nate’s site in August. I decided to contact him for help with weight loss. I was in a very poor state mentality and physically. Nate was very patient and caring. After email and Skype sessions over the past few months, I feel totally renewed and inspired to pursue a healthy path with joy and hope. He does not offer a quick fix, but helps the whole person. I don’t know exactly how he does it, but it has been effortless. Many thanks.”
“Nate is inspiring, effective, and extremely talented in helping people overcome personal obstacles in order to achieve calm, clarity, and ease in whatever they do. In a short period of time (even one session), his clients have expressed a heightened sense of well-being and comfort with life, and have been able to carry that through in their day-to-day activities. It’s nothing short of miraculous, but if you knew Nate, you’d understand how it’s ‘just the way he is.’”
“You have no idea how you’ve just changed my life! I had been wrestling with that thought for years!”
“I definitely knew spiritually that the promise of better things to come was out there, but this is giving me physical hope and focus.”
“Since our phone call, even when I try to remember (that event), I can not feel the emotion of it. I don’t know how that happened, but I so appreciate the time you gave me that night. I was living a constant nightmare with that image replaying over and over. Thank you!”
“Thanks for the great session yesterday, I have gotten to where my resistance lies, (and I’m) working it through.”
- “Yes, I have spoken to – - – everyday for one reason or another, and she said what you worked on was very helpful. She has been falling asleep at night easier and without the anxiety.”
“She had made an appointment for a phone screening for pysch help before leaving school on Friday, and she said they made her feel ‘crazy’. She prefers your approach (as do I) over psychiatric care which frankly I do not think she needs. The fact that she has not contacted you confirms that she is feeling better. Thank you so much!!”
“The results have been fantastic, and she has happily assumed more responsibility. She is doing much better in school. Her teachers are very happy with her progress. I thank you for all your help with her, and please be assured it did make a big difference!”
“While recognizing there’s more improvement to come, our daughter has been much better since my wife and I have improved our behavior with her… We’re excited that she will (also) have you as a guide!”
“My daughter was a little apprehensive before the meeting, and then told me she really enjoyed it and did not want to leave. I am very pleased and happy that we have established this connection for her. Yes, she will be coming back next week. She believes this will be very good for her. So do I. Thanks!”
“But honestly, you have been one of the only people who can really reach my sons.
I am eternally grateful for that.”
“I’m astounded that you are actually invested in helping me through.”
I would like to meet [again] and I do believe there is a benefit. I can’t put my finger on it yet, but something in the way I frame certain things is shifting.
I’m finding I’m more relaxed when I do the exercises you gave me. I’d like to do more. – Just wanted to thank you for your time with me. I genuinely enjoyed it and got back to learning how to be quiet with myself again.
“I must admit, I was thinking how silly our last session was, but something clicked and I actually feel alive… I’ll never doubt again!”
“I wanted to let you know that ---- passed his board exam!
You have been a huge contributor to him reaching his goal and I wanted to thank you!!
Although though we haven't seen you in a while please know you are often in our thoughts and appreciated, God Bless!”
“I’ve been listening to your meditation as I go off to sleep….loving it!!! Thank you soo much for that!”
Crying... "I can actually stand up without any pain, I never knew that this was possible!"
"When I do the exercises, I feel great!”
“Thanks Nate, my son seemed more peaceful after seeing you.”
“Nate, I Feel Great!”
“The cloud is lifting!”
”The blockage is gone!”
“I’m not feeling broken anymore!”
“The weight has lifted from my chest!”
“Interesting how some things you teach benefit in unexpected ways.”
“One day later I am experiencing profoundly positive changes and abounding gratitude!”
”The feeling of stepping out of that pit was emotionally moving.”
“We prefer your approach over psychiatric care.”
“I Feel Inspired!”
“Thanks times infinity for what you do!”
“Nate is amazing, you get the feel this is his lifestyle.”
“I feel a sense of enlightenment!”
“These are tears of joy.”
“I Feel Great!”
“Inspirational”
“Awesome!”
