In this way, one's ability to sense the passing of 'four-bars at a time' becomes one of the most important musical skills that each musician needs to develop, and this is especially true for those who plan to improvise. In this valuable exercise, we work together to master this musical sense that ultimately must be ingrained deep within a musician's unconscious mind. In addition to learning how to make skillful use of 'Four-Bar Phrases', this exercise is also going to helps us hone our ability to count rhythms, locate down-beats, locate up-beats, and more!

8 Bar Blues-Rock!
This is a simple and 'fun to play' exercise that highlights two of the most common scale positions as well as our musical ability to move smoothly 'back and forth' between 'chords and single notes' as well as 'eighth and sixteenth note' rhythms. This is a fun little composition that also helps us to learn and grow a lot! Plus, the backing track (all by itself) is simply a blast to jam with!
